We took Mend, our Black Seed Oil CBD tincture and paired with herbally infused White Tea and vodka for a tasty cocktail you can enjoy…responsibly.
Mixing CBD in vodka might sound weird, but:
-
CBD WITH ALCOHOL IS MORE BIOAVAILABLE.
- Consuming CBD with alcohol can actually cause you to feel the calming effects faster. The alcohol makes the oil droplets smaller, so your digestive system absorbs the oil faster. Traditionally, tinctures used alcohol as a base for that very reason (among others).
-
WHITE TEA, TUMERIC, BLACK SEED, AND GINGER ARE GOOD DRINKING BUDDIES.
- White Tea is rich in antioxidants that help fight alcohol generated free radicals.
Thymoquinone in Black Cumin Seed Oil helps fight liver inflammation.
Curcumin in Tumeric also provides support against puffiness caused by drinking.
Ginger tastes help your immune system stay in the game. Drinking alcohol lowers your immune system over time, so we need all the help we can get.
- White Tea is rich in antioxidants that help fight alcohol generated free radicals.
-
SMOKING A GLASS WITH ROSEMARY LOOKS COOL.
- Yeah, the smoked Rosemary is just neat. It also adds smooth smokey vibes to the beverage.
Ok, before we get started, you are absolutely allowed to leave the alcohol out if you’d like. It’s a great anti-inflammatory tonic without the Vodka.
However, WITH the vodka its a bit more exciting!
Just be warned, there is fire involved, so have someone else make it after you have your first one. 🙂
Tumeric & Black Seed Oil CBD Martini
A tasty, herbaceous cocktail to ease your mind, and relax your body.
BLACK SEED AND CBD VODKA
- 1 shot Vodka (Use the best quality you can)
- 1 ml Mend Tincture (You could also use regular Black Seed oil in a pinch.)
TUMERIC AND GINGER WHITE TEA
- 1 Cup White Tea (Just brew a full cup using 1 tea bag.)
- 1 drop Lavender Oil (Be careful! Its powerful stuff, no more than 1 drop!)
- 1/8 tsp Tumeric (A few shakes if you have a shaker bottle.)
- 1/8 tsp Ginger (Add more if you want more of a spicy immune-boosting kick.)
- 1.5 tbsp Coconut Sugar (Sweetens. Skip this and the OJ for a much more spirit-forward beverage.)
- 1 ounce Orange Juice (Adds acidity, brightness, and a solid kick of Vitamin C.)
FLAIR
- 1 sprig Fresh Rosemary (We burn it and get a light smoky flavor in our glass. Faaaaancy)
PREPARE THE TUMERIC AND GINGER INFUSED WHITE TEA
-
Add Tumeric and Ginger to 8oz of water and bring to a boil.
-
Immediately after your mixture comes to a boil, remove from heat and add one bag of White Tea. Let steep for 3-5 minutes. The longer you leave the bag, the more bitter your drink will become at the end.
-
Remove your tea bag, and put tea aside.
PREPARE YOUR MEND CBD VODKA
-
Add 1ml of Mend to 1 shot (or eyeball it if it's Friday night) of Vodka.
-
Pour your vodka mixture into a cocktail shaker, or a pint glass will do.
OPTIONAL FLAIR AND SMOKINESS
-
Take 1 sprig of fresh Rosemary and light it ablaze! It could take a second to get it caught enough to generate smoke.
-
After your Rosemary is nice and smokin' (or lightly ablaze), put it on a fire-safe surface.
-
Put an empty cocktail glass over the Rosemary, let the glass fill with smoke and sit.
MIX IT
-
Put a couple of ice cubes in your CBD Vodka.
-
Add 3oz (3 shots) of your White Tea to your Vodka mixture.
-
Add your orange juice to the Vodka mixture.
-
Shake lightly, or give a quick stir.
-
Strain off of ice into your recently smoked glass, and enjoy this inebriating, but relatively healthy tonic.
Oh, here is how our Rosemary glass smoking went:
Enjoy your smoky goodness.
The nice part of this cocktail is it contains a lot of compounds that should help you not feel that nasty of a hangover.
The White Tea contains a lot of polyphenols (antioxidants) called catechins that mitigate inflammation. After you go out drinking for an evening, your body is teeming with alcohol-induced free radicals. The antioxidant boost from the White Tea helps terminate these free radicals, and make for a nice morning after.
Tumeric and Ginger also work together as sources of anti-oxidants, to reduce your awful hangover the next morning.
The Lavender and Coconut Sugar are just there for taste. Sure, Lavender can help sooth a headache, but there isn’t enough of it in this drink to do anything particularly noticeable.
Its a fun treat though, for when you need a showy cocktail with some benefits.
